Two recognizeable production based Ferraris immediately made their presence known as they prepared for the 10 hour or 1000 mile cattle herd known as Petit Le Mans. Brit GT brats Kelvin Burt and Marino Franchitti spent their time getting used to the new MSB 360 Modena and learning the circuit. While the new car is several seconds off the factory BMW M3 V8s, the young guns proved without a doubt as to why they won the British GT crown.

Ralf Kelleners has been given the task of keeping the brat duo in line and team chemistry appears to be good. Franchitti is quick to adept to the problem of traffic and the quicker prototypes. Burt had a small incident in night practice resulting in a cracked nose. Alternator problems cut the night practice time in half but the MSB crew were pleased with the results of the practice sessions. The car looks the part and already has become a magnet in the paddock for photographers and fans.

Dave Price returned to Road Atlanta wearing a red shirt but instead of "Panoz" on the back of the shirt, it was Ferrari in big yellow letters. Pricey was given the task of running the Prodrive Maranello in its debut performance in the U.S. The Peter Stevens penned update of a classic Ferrari was quick and sounded glorious right out of the box. The Prodrive effort has already acheived success in the FIA GT Championship and would seem a natural in the GTS class for the ALMS. BTCC regulars Peter Kox and Richard Rydell got down to business for Thursday's late practice. A problem cropped up after dark with the starter and required the Maranello to be push started. "Better now than Saturday" quipped Pricey. An experienced team, first rate drivers and Dave Price........ yeah baby.

The positive reaction to the Prodrive Maranello and MSB 360 Modena only prove that diversity is not only welcomed but needed. And whether it is an 8, 10 or 12, nothing sounds like a Ferrari.
