17 cars on the original list, but we seem to be able to dispense with the Prototypes in a sentence - there, we have done, until driver news re. the Lanesra Panoz becomes available.

The GTSs shows progress, two of them being Saleen S7Rs, although the RML line-up isn't confirmed yet. No Bruno Lambert? Johnny Mowlem to move across from Skea?

There are unconfirmed suggestions that the Australian's cars will not be in Italy, but perhaps they will be. With or without them, this class is the race, and there's the potential for as much drama as we've seen before. Some would regard 12 or so GTs as a positive sign, others that it's a series lacking cars at the front. Where do you sit, valued reader?

Liddell and Youles, Masarati, Orti (below), McKellar, Bart Hayden (above) and Dr. Earle are probably the only members of a select group who have driven in all of the ELMS races - well done, men. The first named are rightfully leading the Championship on 85 points, Paco Orti has 67 and Piers Masarati 66. Liddell and Youles will be 'telling all' once this fifth and final race is over. That should be a good read. Whether this event is an entertaining one remains to be seen.

Between 15 and 17 at Vallelunga, 14 at Mondello. Total, 29 or 31. The task is to create a series in which entrants have no desire to miss a race, excepting unusual circumstances. Who can create that next year? If entrants are going to move, they'll only move one way.....
