The entry is evolving slowly, inching its way towards the final outcome. Thursday should see the final Cirtek line-up. Last news before eviction from the track on Wednesday was that Haupt, Kumpfen, Rice and Mullen would be in the #92 (chassis #088) ex-Barbour car. This isn’t its final livery though. That will be seen on Thursday morning. These four look as strong as anyone.

An ex-F1 man appears in the interesting Mastercar Ferrari: Andrea Montermini has been added to the line-up, but Kumho man Tony Ring is still aiming to qualify the car. Montermini’s name wasn’t in evidence on Wednesday morning. Angelo Masselli drops out.

The so far unbeaten Swedish Lola has an increasingly lively looking group at the wheel. Hugh Plumb moves into the White Lightning Porsche, leaving space for Thed Bjork and Larry Oberto. The latter needs no explanation, as he’s well used to the B2K / 40, but Bjork is relatively unknown. Odd that, as it turns out he set the #79’s best time in the Tests. He never appeared on any lists though. “I won the Scandinavian F3 Championship in ’99, explained Thed, “then ran in the Barber Dodge Pro Series last year. I set the lap record and pole at Mid Ohio, but retired in a couple of races and finished tenth overall.” That didn’t reflect his talent, and Stanley Dickens might do well to sign him up for the year.

This is the newly liveried G&W truck, with Motorola much in evidence. G&W stands for Gary and Weldon, Cole Scrogham’s uncle and father respectively, who created the original enterprise that has evolved into such a successful current team. “We don’t start racing ‘til sun-up on Sunday,” remarked Cole. Stu Hayner completes the four driver #80 squad.

The Mosler has Scott Deware filling the line-up, the second Marcos may have at least one British driver at the wheel, while there are still some three driver squads who might end up with four before the race starts.

‘Tech’ was the order of the day today. This man is Mike Garton, highly experienced SRWC Scrutineer and one time former racer. We’ll catch up with him and his duties in due course.

Potentially one of the more interesting cars here is the V8 powered #54 Jet Motorsports BMW M3. A five litre, is that right? That’s one of many stories to follow up on Thursday. After a wet Wednesday, it is supposed to stay dry for Practice and First Qualifying.

We’ll have that final entry list up as soon as it is...final.
